Leslie Moore had the good fortune to live on Cape Rosier in Brooksville, Maine, for twenty years, just up the road from where Bob Barker grew up. There she indulged her passion for animals by drawing them—wild animals she saw from her windows, livestock she met at local farms, and dogs and cats from around the world that she immortalizes in her PenPets portraits. Leslie has illustrated a number of books, covers, journals, newsletters, calendars, greeting cards, and posters.
Leslie was a staff artist for The Brooksville Breeze for eight years. She is also a relief print maker, and carves both wood and linoleum block prints—mostly of animals. Leslie now lives in Belfast, Maine, where her pen-and-ink drawings and relief prints may be seen at Local Color and other galleries as well as her website at PenPets.com. Leslie is married to Tom Moore who was the Belfast Poet Laureate for 2017 -2018. Leslie is inspired by her muse, a cockapoo named Rumi.
